I recently had the tremendous honor of photographing Miss Kate’s newborn moments. Not only is she an absolute doll baby, but her parents and fur siblings combine to make one of the most gorgeous families I’ve met. Sure, I might perhaps be a bit biased (spoiler alert: this doll baby happens to be one of the newest additions to our family—our sweet niece!), but her precious little smile, tiny hands and big personality coupled with her completely enamored parents made for an incredible session.

We began the morning by capturing all of the carefully-curated details of Kate’s nursery. As soon as you enter this little haven, you can immediately see the thought and love that went into every item in the room. From this perfectly-poised flamingo to heirloom items and commissioned artwork— her nursery is sure to be filled with happiness and love for years to come.

Kate’s mama truly didn’t miss a single detail when she designed this room with her baby girl in mind each step of the decorating way. Her mama just happens to be the epitome of classic style, and this timeless room is a reflection of that. What a lucky little girl!

We then began capturing little moments with Kate and her parents. I love framing the moments between poses—the natural, comfortable interactions between families. In her parents’ arms, this little sweet pea was completely relaxed.

You cannot miss the intense bond these three immediately generated. The images below of Kate in her daddy’s arms were the first images we took, and I just knew from there we were in for swoon-worthy moments to follow.

Miss Kate might be small enough to be held in her dad’s hands, but this little darling has personality! From little winks, smiles and waves—she was awake and alert for the majority of the session.

Just look at this little wink she gave her Mimi, who we were lucky enough to have with us for the session. This little girl is oh-so loved already!

Speaking of loved, Kate has two fur siblings. Beau, pictured below, could not be more excited his parents got him a new baby. Scout, who was a tad camera shy, is the perfect balance of nurturing and protective (as any big sister should be). We can already tell these three will be partners in crime in the blink of an eye.

Some of our most precious captures of the day were when baby Kate drifted to sleep in her mama’s arms. These pictures seem to freeze time and focus on the palpable love Molly has for her darling daughter.

There is just something about the bond between mama and baby that calls for black and white. You can feel how peaceful the energy is between these two. Her little expression in the above photo says it all.

While Miss Kate enjoyed a mid-day nap, we were able to snap all of the tiny details of her delicate frame. Just look at this girl. Doll baby through and through!

This family is so filled with love, and I cannot wait to watch them grow together and capture the moments—big and small—along the way.
